Join us at the library for a great tomato time! Children ages 3 to 14 will learn about the tomato plant family, make salsa fresca, and snack on their creation during story time. We’ll read Chicks and Salsa and cheer Ole’ while listening to this hilarious story about chickens who are tired of their plain old grain. Kid's Farmers' Market
We LOVE taking our pop-up farmers market to the kids! Today we’ll give every child at the Boys and Girls Club in Cave Junction, their own ‘Crunch Bucks’ to spend at our farmers market booth, where they’ll make their own selections, do their own math ,and take home a bag of locally grown fruits and vegetables to share with their family. This empowering activity sends healthy food home to families in need with recipes to help parents prepare a nutritious meal. It’s the best day EVER!

Soil Sleuths Class Series-Part 1
Take a closer look at the foundation growing your food, flowers or pasture! OSU Assistant Professor of Practice in General Agriculture, Nan Xu, will lead us through a hands-on demonstration on how to use a soil probe to collect a soil sample, and discuss how to determine the best timing, depth, and locations for collecting representative samples. Nan will also lead a hands-on texture analysis and talk about the soil test kits—such as N-P-K strips and moisture meters. These can be engaging tools for home gardeners, however, we’ll discuss what they can and can’t reliably tell us. A list of regional soil testing labs will be provided with guidance on choosing the right lab and analysis package based on the participant’s needs. This is part one of a four-part series. Shine Your Light on Hunger Fundraiser
Did you know that the Farm Collective grows for the Josephine County Food Bank? Oregon Food Bank has provided Local Food Procurement Assistance funding that allows JCFC to purchase fresh, nutritious foods from local, underserved growers and then donate it to the Josephine County Food Bank. This funding will END October 1st due to Executive Administration cuts.
As a community partner working collaboratively to feed Josephine County, we encourage you to attend the Shine Your Light on Hunger Fundraiser this month! It’s sure to be a beautiful and delicious evening in the vineyard. Order your tickets or bid at the online auctions. Carrie will be there and she’d love to see you!

Our subscriptions are unique in that the customer can customize every order adding/swapping items to meet their preferences, volume and frequency.
